I visited Monticello (Tomas Jefferson’s home) in Charlottsville, VA. They unfortunately don’t allow photography of any kind inside the house, but you can shoot outside (and under) the house. I visited in the winter after a snowstorm, so some areas were off limits. Still, I was able to capture some pretty cool stuff. There’s a tunnel that runs under Monticello that was used by workers for all types of daily tasks. Everything from cooking in the kitchen to brewing beer. There’s a lot of stone and wood down there (walls and floors), and the windows are fairly small, so you end up with some interesting lighting for photography.
